Theresa Walsh earned her MA in English with an emphasis in Composition from Sacramento State University and her BA in English with an emphasis in Teaching from UC Davis. Her teaching experience includes writing in the disciplines, writing in the professions, and first-year composition. Her pedagogy is centered on student advocacy, writing assessment, and rhetorical genre studies. Her research interests include women's health care communication, technical communication, and rhetoric. Her MA thesis, An Examination of Student Confidence and Self-Efficacy in Sacramento State University's Graduation Writing Assessment Requirement Process is a programmatic evaluation of the ways in which the rising junior timed placement test impacts student confidence and self-efficacy. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in Technical Communication and Rhetoric through Texas Tech University.
