Bio

Research Areas:

medical humanities, rhetorics of health and medicine, narrative medicine, rhetorics of science, composition & rhetoric, intersectionality, queer phenomenology, affect, sensory rhetoric, comedy studies, humor studies, health equity, cultural humility, safety, and structural competence, teaching writing in online, hybrid, and hyflex modalities

Biography:

Between the 2019-2020 and 2021-2022 academic years, served as the Assistant Director for Online Writing Instruction. Worked in that capacity with the Associate Director Dr. Kory Ching and the Center for Educational Effectiveness, securing a Pathways Course Innovation grant to support UWP faculty in the development of two hybrid writing courses (UWP 101Y: Advanced Composition, Hybrid and UWP 7Y: Entry Level Writing, Hybrid), in accordance with best practices in Writing Studies. Was instrumental in the enabling UWP faculty to pivot to emergency remote instruction during the COVID-19 pandemic.
