The House of Twenty Thousand Books has been excerpted in The Nation, The New Republic, and Paris Review and has been reviewed favorably by the New Yorker, the Washington Post, the Wall Street Journal,  the Los Angeles Review of Books, the Financial Times, Tablet, the Chronicle of Higher Education, and other prestigious publications in the US, the UK, Germany, and Austria. It is also an ALA Sophie Brody Medal Honor book and it's on the Jewish Quarterly Wingate Prize longlist.
