Student receives $13,000 grant using UWP 104A business proposal
UWP Business Writing student Sarfraz (Raz) Mohammed submitted a business proposal he wrote for his UWP 104A class and was awarded $13,000 in start up funds. With that funding , he has developed an educational tool called Studyduck through which students can form online study groups. The Studyduck site launched at the end of April 17 (see to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BjqXihbjEfE). His goal, Raz states in the proposal, is to to build a bridge among students who find it difficult to approach classmates they don’t know. With StudyDuck, students can connect with others by posting the times they are available to study during the week. In his excited email to thank his UWP 104A instructor Aliki Dragona for her help, Raz raves that he “cannot express in words how much the technical writing skills helped me to present the business plan.”
