Sarah Perrault publishes article on "u-shaped" learning curve and student writing
Sarah Perrault's article, "Cognition and Error in Student Writing," was published in the winter issue of the Journal on Excellence in College Teaching (JECT). In the article, Perrault integrates work from cognitive and developmental psychology with studies in writing in order to explain why the quality of student writing sometimes appears to regress to earlier or less proficient levels. Insights are applied to explain how and why to use Writing Across the Curriculum strategies to help students write more clearly, coherently, and correctly.
