UWP Director Chris Thaiss to Keynote Canadian Conference
UWP Director Chris Thaiss will deliver the keynote address on May 25th in Ottawa at the annual conference of the Canadian Association for the Study of Discourse and Writing. Thaiss's address, "Linking WAC/WID Program Research and Research on Learning Disciplinary Discourses,” will describe the evolution of his recent research from the ethnography of writing development in his 2006 book /Engaged Writers and Dynamic Disciplines/ (co-authored with Terry Zawacki) to his now three-year quantitative study of writing programs worldwide, the International WAC/WID Mapping Project.
