The Campus Council on Community and Diversity is a group of faculty, staff, and administrators who meet to discuss issues relating to community and diversity and who conduct forums and workshops to address problems of community and diversity on the Davis campus.

Information and Educational Technology sets up email accounts for new students, offers workshops to increase computer literacy, and oversees the computer labs.

Writing Specialists and student tutors provide one-on-one assistance for students who need help with their writing. Several of the writing specialists have extensive ESL training. The Learning Skills Center also offers workshops for improving reading, writing, math, science, and language skills.

Formerly the Disability Resource Center, this office documents disabilities, recommends accommodations, refers students for testing, and provides other supports services for students with disabilities. You can consult with them if you have a student with a documented or suspected disability.

The TRC offers peer consultation, videotaping, mid-quarter interviews, workshops, and professional development opportunities. It is staffed in part by TA Consultants, master TAs from across the disciplines who have been chosen to work as consultants because of their interest and expertise in teaching.

The Hart Media Distribution Lab owns a large collection of instructional videos that teachers can arrange to show to their classes. Some tapes are placed in storage, so reserve a tape several days in advance of its showing. A list of videotapes housed in the campus collection can be accessed at the site given above. Writing Across the Curriculum Workshop Program 752-4947

Lecturers specializing in cross-disciplinary writing provide individual consultations and workshops for faculty and TAs to help them design better writing assignments, comment more efficiently and effectively on students' papers, and use writing to stimulate discussion and critical thinking. Women's Resource Center 752-3372 113 North Hall

The Women's Resource and Research Center sponsors lectures, workshops, exhibits, and forums on a wide range of scholarly and popular subjects, as well as discussion and support groups and skill-building classes. The center also has an extensive library in 114 North Hall that is open during the school year from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
