Biography:

Currently the Assistant Director of Writing Across the Curriculum, Gary Goodman teaches varied writing courses, including the intermediate course Writing Style (UWP 18) and the advanced courses Writing in History (UWP 102C), Writing in the Professions: Business and Technical Writing (UWP 104A), Writing in the Professions: Journalism (UWP 104C), and Writing in the Professions: Education (UWP 104D). She offers consultations and workshops to faculty and graduate student instructors across the disciplines on teaching more effectively with writing and presents writing workshops for graduate and undergraduate students. She has also taught the graduate level writing pedagogy course (UWP 390), multiethnic literature, women’s literature, and women and gender studies. Gary’s approach to teaching and coaching writing benefits from her own writing experiences in varied genres, including academic writing, journalism, business and technical report writing, proposal writing, and personal journals. She has also worked as a freelance writer, coach and editor.
